Helping Hand

The Helping Hand curriculum explores various local organizations that support people in need, as well as key community service departments.
Fall – Helping Those in Need: Students will learn about local organizations and their specific needs.
Winter – Expressing Gratitude: Focused on giving back, this segment encourages students to show appreciation to those who serve the community, such as local service members.
Spring – Israel: Students will explore organizations that support People in Israel and address the challenges it faces.
Students will learn about each organization and its specific needs, then present their findings to the Specialty Talent Pods, challenging them to develop solutions to address these issues.

Israel & Me
10th - 12th Grade
Israel and Me is an engaging and comprehensive course designed to equip high school students with the knowledge and confidence to navigate complex conversations about Israel. Whether encountering challenging comments on social media, debating the Arab-Israeli conflict at school, or fielding tough questions from family, this course empowers students with a deep understanding of Israel’s history, its legal and moral standing, and the modern challenges it faces—all while earning college credits.
Through 13 interactive lessons, participants will explore Israel’s rich history, from ancient times to its establishment in 1948, while diving into topics such as Israel’s survival against all odds, the morality of its actions, and its unique approach to security. Students will also learn about the complex relationship between Israel and the United Nations, the roots of anti-Semitism, and how to identify bias in the media. The course culminates in learning how to confidently stand up for Israel in today’s world, ensuring that students leave not only informed but ready to advocate.
